VisEditBench: Can Vision-Language Models Edit Visualization Code from Multimodal Feedback?

作者Mizanur Rahman, Arshia Azimlu, Shadikur Rahman, Md Tahmid Rahman Laskar, Amran Bhuiyan, Shafiq Joty, Enamul Hoque Prince

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Vision-language models (VLMs) have shown strong capabilities in generating visualization code from textual or visual specifications. However, real-world visualization authoring is inherently iterative: users frequently revise existing visualizations to repair flawed charts or adapt them to desired styles. Existing benchmarks primarily evaluate generation from scratch, leaving visualization code editing from multimodal feedback largely unexplored. We introduce VisEditBench, a benchmark of 1,395 human-annotated visualization code-editing tasks grounded in realistic visualization workflows and failure cases. VisEditBench covers two practical settings: feedback-guided repair, where models revise visualization code using buggy or marked charts together with textual feedback, and reference-guided restyling, where models modify code to match a target chart image. Evaluating 20 state-of-the-art VLMs reveals that visualization code editing remains challenging: Claude-4.6-Sonnet achieves the best overall pass rate of 74.46%, while most open-source models remain below 50%. Performance is particularly weak on visually grounded style adaptation, where Claude-4.6-Sonnet achieves only 55.71%. To establish a strong baseline, we further propose VisEditAgent, a render-grounded editing framework that iteratively generates, executes, validates, and refines candidate edits. Built on GPT-4o, VisEditAgent improves overall pass rate from 55.75% to 67.99%, demonstrating the importance of render-grounded feedback for faithful visualization editing. We will release VisEditBench at https://github.com/vis-nlp/VisEditBench.

Temporally Grounded Compositional Camera Motion Understanding via Geometric Knowledge Distillation

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Understanding camera motion is fundamental to video perception, with applications in spatial intelligence and controllable video generation. Multimodal large language models (MLLMs) provide a natural interface for this task, but existing work typically assigns one or more labels to an entire clip. Such clip-level recognition overlooks two defining properties of real camera motion: it can change within a shot, and multiple movements can occur simultaneously. We therefore formulate camera-motion understanding as temporally grounded, compositional recognition, which requires a model to localize motion-consistent intervals and identify every movement active within each interval. We introduce CamChoreo, a benchmark of 4,229 real single-shot clips with expert-annotated temporal segments. Its annotations use a compact vocabulary of 20 direction-aware labels, and nearly half of the segments contain compound camera motion, with multiple movement primitives active simultaneously. Recognizing such fine-grained, compositional motion is hard for current MLLMs, whose visual encoders emphasize semantic content rather than the geometric evidence on which camera motion depends. Directly injecting features from a frozen 3D foundation model addresses this gap, but requires running the expensive geometry model on every input; we refer to this baseline as CamInject. We instead propose CamDistill, which distills the same geometric knowledge into lightweight camera tokens during training and removes the 3D model at inference. CamDistill matches the accuracy of direct feature injection without running the 3D teacher at inference. Together, CamChoreo and CamDistill advance camera-motion understanding from clip-level labeling to temporally grounded, compositional recognition. Stream Forcing: Constructing Unified Training Trajectory for Robust Streaming Video Generation

作者Yueting Zhu, Yuehao Song, Kaicheng Zhang, Bao Tang, Shaoyu Chen, Qian Zhang, Wenyu Liu, Xinggang Wang

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Streaming video generation holds strong potential for world modeling, where future frames must be inferred online sequentially to form a continuous video stream. However, streaming video diffusion models introduce a fundamental train-inference mismatch: inference follows a specialized denoising order, whereas advanced training strategies typically require diverse noise-level configurations. To address this trade-off between train-inference consistency and training coverage, we reformulate the video diffusion sampling as a frame-indexed stochastic process over noise levels. Within this stochastic process space, we construct a continuous training trajectory along which the sampling schedule progressively evolves from independent sampling to inference-consistent sampling. We further introduce a joint calibration algorithm and a temporal correlative sampling algorithm to ensure trajectory smoothness and cross-frame correlation. Building on these designs, we propose Stream Forcing, a unified training framework for streaming video generation that balances training sufficiency and inference efficiency. Extensive experiments demonstrate that Stream Forcing significantly improves generation quality with a 36.6% FVD improvement on the UCF-101 benchmark. Furthermore, our method facilitates robust zero-shot extrapolation to long-horizon video generation with a 27.9% FVD improvement on the UCF-101 benchmark.

SafeCA: Safe Cross-Attention Localization and Regulation for Text-to-Video Jailbreak Defense

作者Siyuan Liang, Yupeng Qiu, Junfeng Fang, Rong-Cheng Tu, Jiaxing Huang, Dacheng Tao

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Text-to-Video (T2V) generative models are vulnerable to jailbreak attacks in real-world deployment, leading them to produce harmful or inappropriate content. Existing defense approaches mainly rely on input filtering or reconstruction, which not only incur high computational latency but also tend to distort semantics. To address these issues, we experimentally and systematically analyze the differences between clean and jailbreak samples in the cross-attention feature space, revealing for the first time a cumulative separation effect and a progressively increasing trend of linear separability between the two during the diffusion process. Based on this insight, we propose SafeCA, a feature-level defense mechanism for safe cross-attention localization and regularization. Firstly, we identify key defensive regions and values through attention stability analysis using cross-attention features collected from clean prompts within a single inference. Secondly, SafeCA mitigates anomalous activations via attention masking with energy normalization and introduces a lightweight semantic-space adapter to redirect abnormal semantic flows. Furthermore, we detect and suppress potentially malicious tokens by back-propagating feature anomaly signals to the input cue words, thereby enhancing the deployability of the defense in commercial models. Experimental results show that SafeCA reduces the jailbreak success rate by about 20% on mainstream T2V models, adds almost no inference overhead (+0.1s), and maintains good text-video semantic consistency. Overall, SafeCA provides an architecture-level, deployable protection paradigm for T2V generation models.

On the Limitations of Cross-Lingual Consistency in Multilingual Text-to-image Generation

作者Sicheng Zhang, Zhonghao Yan, Binzhu Xie, Shi Qiu, Muzammal Naseer, Naveed Akhtar, Mubarak Shah

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Text-to-image (T2I) generation has achieved remarkable progress in recent years. However, existing research has largely focused on English-only settings, leaving cross-lingual performance gaps and language-specific effects insufficiently explored. To fill this gap, we introduce LingT2I, a benchmark covering 10 widely used languages with 33K prompts, designed to evaluate cross-lingual effects in both content generation and text rendering. Building on this benchmark, we conduct a comprehensive cross-lingual analysis, uncovering linguistic inequality and language-dependent trade-offs across evaluation dimensions. Beyond quantitative evaluation, we further reveal a range of language-dependent generation patterns, highlighting how linguistic factors and their corresponding cultural contexts systematically impact model outputs. Our benchmark and analysis provide a foundation for studying cross-lingual behavior in T2I generation and facilitate the development of more robust and inclusive models. Code and dataset are available at https://github.com/RISys-Lab/LingT2I.

Ex-Omni-2D: Expressive Omni-Modal Dialogue Models with Native Visual Presence

作者Haoyu Zhang, Zhipeng Li, Xiaoying Tang, Tianshu Yu, Yiwen Guo

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Omni-modal dialogue models can understand multimodal inputs and synthesize spoken replies, yet their responses remain visually disembodied. We introduce Ex-Omni-2D, an omni-modal dialogue framework that generates a coordinated response comprising text, personalized speech, and reference-conditioned video. Given a multimodal query, reference image, and reference audio, the model predicts a structured Visual Thought Plan (VTP) describing scene, emotion, and motion, followed by response text and native multi-codebook speech units. These units form a shared acoustic-temporal interface: they are decoded into speech and aligned online with video frames. This interface enables the response and avatar pathways to be learned from heterogeneous speech, dialogue, and avatar-video data, avoiding the need for large-scale query--text--speech--video supervision. A full-sequence Video Generator serves as the primary Teacher. For efficient incremental generation, we further distill it into a few-step block-causal Streaming Student whose Prefix Streaming mechanism carries a clean latent across consecutive chunks to reduce cumulative late-chunk degradation. With four-step inference, the complete four-GPU pipeline achieves an end-to-end RTF of 1.293 at $400\times720$/$720\times400$, providing a practical quality--efficiency operating point.

Bridging Event Streams and DiT: Event-Guided Video Frame Interpolation

作者Guixu Lin, Yuyang Yu, Xiang Ji, Linyao Chen, Zhengwei Yin, Mengshun Hu, Mingdeng Cao, Shengfeng He, Yinqiang Zheng

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Latent diffusion models have recently advanced video frame interpolation by synthesizing intermediate frames between input images. However, handling large temporal gaps and complex motion remains challenging, often resulting in motion blur, structural distortions, and temporal inconsistencies. Event cameras provide high-temporal-resolution motion cues that are well suited for bridging these gaps and improving interpolation quality. To exploit this advantage without training an event-assisted model from scratch, we propose an adapter-based framework that incorporates event-derived cues into a pre-trained image-to-video diffusion model with minimal architectural changes. Specifically, our method leverages Image Warped Events (IWEs) and bidirectional sparse optical flow to provide spatially and temporally aligned guidance during generation. By injecting these event-guided structural and motion cues into the diffusion process, our approach reduces interpolation artifacts and improves both reconstruction fidelity and temporal coherence. Experimental results on real and synthetic benchmarks show that our method consistently outperforms existing state-of-the-art approaches. NullEdit: Stealthy Image Protection via VLM Condition Redirection

作者Weiyao Huang, Liqin Wang, Ziqi Sheng, Wei Lu

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Modern image editors combine vision-language models (VLMs) with diffusion transformer backbones to modify a single reference image according to instructions without fine-tuning. This capability also enables unauthorized manipulation of publicly released images. Existing inference-time defenses either invalidate edits through conspicuous corruption, thereby exposing the protection, or allow them to proceed with identity or reference content drift, thereby failing to prevent the editing behavior itself. We instead target a stealthy and harmless no-op in which the requested edit is suppressed, the output remains natural and source-preserving without conspicuous artifacts or identity replacement, and harmful semantics requested by malicious instructions are absent. We propose NullEdit, which targets the VLM representation jointly formed from the reference image and instruction before it conditions the downstream DiT backbone. Using normal-edit and no-edit anchors, NullEdit redirects this representation, while cross-prompt gradient averaging transfers protection to held out instructions. Across Step1X-Edit and Qwen-Image-Edit on CelebA-HQ and VGGFace2, NullEdit reduces the EditReward IF score by 0.813 on average relative to the SOTA baseline while preserving subject identity and source content.

After an older adult misses a medication dose, a software agent can send another reminder and an embodied agent can bring the medication. Yet neither explains whether the person forgot, is confused, has side effects, or deliberately refused, nor what support is appropriate. This reveals a structural gap in Agentic AI: Digital Agents primarily transform software states, while Embodied Agents transform physical states; neither makes a person's evolving state and agency the primary object of modeling, intervention, and evaluation. We introduce Combodied Agents, a human-centered paradigm that perceives, models, predicts, and supports individual human-state trajectories over time, using software tools, sensors, wearables, robots, and human services as action channels rather than end goals. We unify fragmented capabilities across personal assistants, health agents, AI companions, and adaptive human--AI systems into a closed loop: event-based multimodal perception reconstructs meaningful personal events; longitudinal, correctable memory provides temporal context; Personal World Models estimate future personal states and outcomes under alternative decisions and interventions; and an admissible intervention policy selects proportionate support under consent, uncertainty, safety, reversibility, and user control. Feedback from the person and environment updates the loop. Rather than requiring an exhaustive Human Digital Twin, the framework uses purpose-bounded, uncertainty-aware, user-correctable representations. We organize the design space by human-state targets, relational contexts, and agent roles, and propose scenario-centered evaluation, agency-preservation metrics, benchmark requirements, edge-native personal models, and governance directions. Combodied Agents shift Agentic AI from external task completion toward sustained human benefit.

MazzikaAI: A knowledge-based performance-to-prompt compiler for real-time Arabic maqam accompaniment with a streaming text-to-music model

作者Jiaxin Du, Boulbaba Abdeljaouad, Yong Zhuang, Haoyu Li

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Arabic maqam music microtonal, modal, and built on ornamented call and response is among the traditions most underserved by generative music models, whose training frameworks remain predominantly Western and equaltempered. Real time accompaniment sharpens this gap: an AI partner must listen, adapt dynamically, and respect idiomatic microtonal structures. Streaming text to music models provide strong generative capabilities but lack precise control interfaces. We present MazzikaAI, a knowledge based system that uses natural language as the actuator of a realtime control loop. By compiling live MIDI, gesture, and inferred harmony into continuously updated text prompts, MazzikaAI steers an unmodified streaming generator, Google Lyria RealTime, without requiring model finetuning. The system embeds expert knowledge of six core maqamat, characteristic ornaments, and ensemble dynamics, maintaining realtime responsiveness with subsecond keytoaudibleupdate latency. Empirical evaluations demonstrate that dynamic prompt compilation reliably grounds generation in microtonal scales, significantly increasing offgrid quartertone content over baseline generation. Beyond its core implementation, MazzikaAI illustrates how deterministic knowledgebased rules can effectively bridge expert, nonWestern musical traditions and unfinetuned foundation models. This architecture establishes a scalable paradigm for realtime humanAI cocreation, offering a generalizable blueprint for interactive accompaniment, adaptive music education, and culturally inclusive generative audio across diverse global idioms.

SparSTAR: Sparse Attention for SpaceTime AutoRegressive Video Synthesis

作者Jongbeom Lee, Hyunwoo Yu, Jincheol Yang, Jaemin Choi, Suk-Ju Kang

展开完整摘要收起摘要

InfinityStar extends visual autoregressive generation to video through a sequence of image and clip pyramids. Its changing scale and cross-clip context, however, leave late-scale attention costly and make sparse patterns reused from diffusion or image VAR models unreliable. We introduce SparSTAR, a training-free block-sparse attention method tailored to this setting. At each expensive scale and attention head, SparSTAR scores contiguous key blocks from the current query and key activations, retains required conditioning context, and executes the selected blocks through a forward-only sparse path. We analyze cross-scale consistency within a clip, pattern persistence across clip boundaries, and quality degradation as reuse spans increasingly distant scales. Across these analyses, important key blocks shift, showing that recomputing block selection at each target scale is more reliable than reusing a transferred mask. On 720p text-to-video and image-to-video generation, SparSTAR preserves every token and refinement scale while providing about a 1.6x end-to-end speedup and maintaining VBench and paired-output reconstruction fidelity close to dense InfinityStar.

Deciding When to Switch: E-Processes for Adaptive Minimax Training for Generative Adversarial Nets

作者Hyunjoo Kim, Sicheng Wu, Agastya Venkatraman, Guang Lin, Sehwan Kim

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Modern data science increasingly gives rise to hypothesis-testing problems that are not naturally formulated in terms of parameters within prespecified statistical models. One important example is the dynamic evaluation of optimization algorithms, where decisions must be made during training about whether further updates remain beneficial or the algorithm should switch to a different phase. This issue is particularly relevant in stochastic min-max optimization. Generative adversarial networks (GANs) provide a canonical example, as their training requires repeated decisions about when to switch between discriminator and generator updates, yet existing methods typically rely on fixed update ratios or heuristic criteria. We formulate this switching problem as sequential hypothesis testing and develop an e-process-based adaptive training procedure. During discriminator updates, one e-process tests the null that the discriminator-induced separation between the empirical data distribution and the generator law remains below a target level. During generator updates, with the discriminator fixed, a second e-process tests the reverse null that this separation remains above a refresh level. Conditional on the observed training sample, we prove that fresh empirical indices and latent draws yield conditional e-values that can be accumulated into e-processes, providing anytime-valid Type I error control under adaptive model updates and data-dependent switching. Across multimodal synthetic distributions and image benchmark datasets, the proposed method matches or outperforms the best fixed-ratio baselines under several widely used GAN objectives.

MAD-HOI: Masked Autoregressive Diffusion for Generating Articulated Hand Object Interactions from Text

作者Ananya Bal, Kartik Sharma, Ethan Lai, Samyak Tiwari, Liza Dahiya, Chaitanya Chawla, Laszlo A. Jeni

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Methods for text-based generation of hand-object interaction (HOI) sequences primarily focus on producing smooth, physically plausible trajectories. A truly utilitarian method should additionally support variable-length generation, composite motion sequences, motion completion and infilling, and reliable termination without compromising physical plausibility. Standard diffusion models for HOI generation are typically trained only for text-to-motion generation on atomic motions and require the motion length to be specified a-priori. Autoregressive (AR) methods provide greater sequence-level flexibility, but commonly depend on discrete motion codes, which can lose contact-sensitive motion detail. To address these key limitations, we present a model performing Masked Autoregression with Diffusion for HOI generation (MAD-HOI). Our method starts by encoding hand and object motions in a continuous latent space while keeping them disentangled to maintain stream-wise control. This is followed by a masked autoregressive transformer to predict context features that condition a flow-matching head. MAD-HOI is capable of motion generation for atomic and composite articulated sequences, conditioned motion completion and infilling, as well as EOM (End of Motion) prediction from a single training objective. We provide comprehensive evaluations for these capabilities and benchmark our method on the ARCTIC and GRAB datasets. Our experiments demonstrate that our method generates more diverse and physically plausible interactions compared to other open-sourced baseline methods.

Sci-VBench: Evaluating Knowledge- and Reasoning-Intensive Video Generation in Science Domains

展开完整摘要收起摘要

We introduce Sci-VBench, a comprehensive benchmark for evaluating knowledge- and reasoning-intensive video generation across scientific domains. It contains 1,253 expert-annotated examples spanning 60 subjects across four core disciplines: Natural Science, Healthcare, Humanities & Social Sciences, and Engineering. Each example requires models to generate temporally rich videos that demand scientific reasoning and knowledge-grounded synthesis, going beyond surface-level visual plausibility. We further establish a rubric-based evaluation protocol. Our analysis shows that, under this protocol, both non-expert human evaluators and MLLM-as-Judge systems can achieve relatively high agreement with expert judgments, supporting reproducible evaluation at scale. We benchmark 16 frontier proprietary and open-source models and find that, while automatic perceptual-quality scores cluster tightly across systems, performance on Prompt Grounding and Scientific and Causal Correctness varies substantially, with a pronounced proprietary-open-source gap. These findings show that advances in visual realism have not yet translated into reliable modeling of scientific and causal dynamics.

Learning How the World Evolves: Extrapolative Video World Models via Latent Dynamics Reasoning

作者Haodong Li, Shaoteng Liu, Tianyu Wang, Chongjian Ge, Sihui Ji, Jiahan Zhang, Xin Lin, Haolin Lu, Zhe Lin, Manmohan Chandraker

展开完整摘要收起摘要

The world evolves following its dynamics, i.e., its laws of motion. However, leading video diffusion models largely fit the pixels without modeling how the pixels transit over time. Thus, they render visually plausible frames but may not accurately obey the laws. To capture the dynamics purely from pixels, we introduce Latent Dynamics Reasoning (LDR). LDR casts the latent transition as an explicit kinematic integration, where the lower-order dynamics are integrated numerically and the model regresses only the third- and higher-order residual that drives the rollout. For this integration to extrapolate better, LDR runs it on a structured latent rather than dense convolutional features. Following PhyWorld, we validate LDR on a controlled white-box physics benchmark spanning five tasks (uniform motion, parabola, collision, bouncing, looming), focusing on out-of-distribution scenarios that reveal whether a model has truly learned the underlying dynamics. LDR extrapolates the learned dynamics far better: the gap between its in- and out-of-distribution error is over 20$\times$ smaller than the video diffusion baseline's, under both single- and joint-task training at 256$^2$ resolution, while using 26$\times$ fewer parameters and running 143$\times$ faster. LDR can even generalize under severe shift: for example, trained only on red balls moving left-to-right, it correctly predicts the motion of a blue square moving right-to-left. To our knowledge, this is the first video world model that extrapolates learned dynamics beyond its training distribution. Project page: https://lat-dyn-reason.github.io/

Energy-Structured Latent World Models with Neural Time Fields for Physically Constistent Open-World Motion Planning

作者Yapeng Liu, Yuanzhao Zhai, Bo Ding, Huaimin Wang, Lin Wang

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Physically consistent motion planning remains a fundamental challenge in embodied AI, as generated trajectories must strictly conform to real-world execution dynamics. While latent world models offer a promising approach by predicting these dynamics, existing methods learn unconstrained future representations where absorbed physics remains implicit. Therefore, they fail to form reusable physical knowledge, which compromises reliability in unpredictable open-world navigation. To address this, we propose a novel Energy-Structured Latent World Model (ELWM). Our key idea is to structure the ELWM latent state to explicitly carry energy and momentum, ensuring strictly causal transitions via dissipation and control ports. Trained on multimodal RGB-D and inertial interaction histories, our model guarantees physically consistent predictions. We further implement this for motion planning by constructing Physics-Conditioned Neural Time Fields (PC-NTF), a key technical cornerstone that integrates ELWM into an arrival time field via the Eikonal equation to yield a physically-informed navigation policy. Across held-out scenes, our evaluation reveals significant improvements. Compared to generic latent models, PC-NTF reduces 0.8-s motion-prediction NRMSE from 0.36 to 0.29. Against Active Neural Time Fields, it improves navigation success from 81.3% to 89.7% and SPL from 0.64 to 0.73, while cutting the physical collision rate from 12.1% to 5.8% and the Eikonal residual from 0.083 to 0.031. Beyond these targeted gains, our results demonstrate that embedding explicit physical structures into latent spaces intrinsically bridges the gap between predictive world models and safe, dynamically feasible motion planning.

DreOPD: Degraded-Reference Extrapolative On-Policy Distillation for Flow-matching Models

作者Mingfeng Lin, Chengfei Cai, Lin Xu, Yuxiang Wei, Liang Han

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Flow-matching models are now a mainstream method to image generation, but its adaptation to diverse downstream scenarios typically relies on post-training, which may cause conflicts among task-specific optimization objectives. Reinforcement learning enables direct optimization of task-specific rewards beyond the original models, yet trajectory-level optimization may incur high-variance gradients and cross-task interference. On-policy distillation (OPD) offers dense and stable supervision on student rollouts, but conventional teacher matching remains imitation-based. We propose DreOPD, a Degraded-reference extrapolative OPD method for flow-matching models that bridges these two paradigms. Our DreOPD converts implicit reward extrapolation into closed-form velocity regression, enabling extrapolative post-training with the stability of OPD. It further uses a mildly degraded reference to strengthen the teacher-reference contrast, yielding a clearer extrapolation direction. Experiments on single- and multi-teacher settings show that DreOPD outperforms OPD and multi-task RL baselines in average performance, while surpassing specialized teachers on most metrics.

Illusion or Integrity? Geometrical Consistency Metric for AIGC Video Quality Evaluation

作者Yifei Xue, Yuanchen Fei, Hao Zhang, Chenzhi Nie, Tie ji, Yizhen Lao

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Recently, AI-driven video generation has attracted considerable attention. This surge increases the demand for reliable video quality assessment (VQA) metrics to evaluate AI-generated content (AIGC) videos and guide model optimization. Existing studies assess video quality through visual harmony, video-text consistency, and domain-specific alignment, yet lack quantitative metrics for measuring fidelity to physical laws. To address this limitation, we present a novel benchmark that evaluates the quality of AIGC videos based on their compliance with physical principles by quantitatively measuring geometric consistency across frames extracted from generated sequences. This serves as a proxy for estimating the extent to which generated videos conform to real-world physical rules. Specifically, GeoCon-Bench captures global motion through translation estimation, fits homography or fundamental matrix models using background correspondences, and reports complementary metrics, including inlier ratio and geometric error. We also release a dataset containing 20 scenes across six motion categories. Experiments on state-of-the-art AIGC models demonstrate the reliability of GeoCon-Bench as a video quality assessment metric.

MusicLayout: Explicit Structural Planning for Controllable Text-to-Music Generation

作者Shuyu Li, Kejun Zhang, Jiahe Lei, Shulei Ji, Zihao Wang, Jiaxing Yu, Wanying Wu, Lei Wang

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Text-to-music generation has advanced rapidly, but current systems still rely primarily on global text prompts, leaving the structural organization of generated music implicit and difficult to inspect, control, or revise before audio generation. To address this issue, we introduce MusicLayout, an explicit intermediate representation for controlling musical structure in text-to-music generation. MusicLayout describes a musical piece as a time-aligned layout of sections, textures, repetitions, variations, and instrument-level arrangements, serving as an interpretable planning layer between textual intent and the generated music. We integrate MusicLayout into a text-to-music framework built on a unified autoregressive formulation, where the model first generates a MusicLayout representation and subsequently predicts audio tokens conditioned on this representation within a single sequence. The resulting MusicLayout can be inspected and modified prior to audio generation, providing a mechanism for layout-level structural control. We evaluate MusicLayout through layout-conditioned generation, layout manipulation experiments, and matched-data ablations, providing evidence that explicit layout planning can improve long-range structural organization and support layout-level control.

Latent World Models with Monotone Planning Costs for Image-Goal Navigation

作者Amirhosein Chahe, Siwei Cai, Lifeng Zhou

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Image-goal navigation with latent world models requires not only accurate future prediction, but also a planning cost that reliably ranks candidate action sequences. We define the cost as the cosine distance between the predicted future embedding and the goal embedding, and show that poor cost ordering can mislead sampling-based planners such as Cross-Entropy Method (CEM). To address this, we propose a latent world model built on a frozen DINO-family encoder and train it with two complementary objectives. An autoregressive rollout loss reduces the gap between training and multi-step planning rollouts, while a Monotone Cost Ranking (MCR) loss directly encourages increasingly perturbed action sequences to receive higher planning costs. We also study InfoNCE-based action-contrastive training and find that temporal permutation negatives distort the latent geometry and degrade planning performance. On the GNM navigation dataset, our method outperforms Navigation World Models (NWM), DINO-WM, OmniVLA, and NoMaD, achieving state-of-the-art image-goal navigation performance while reducing orientation error by $2.7\times$ over the same-encoder DINO WM baseline. We also deploy the model zero-shot on a physical robot, where it follows goal-directed paths in unseen indoor and outdoor environments.

View-Adaptive Renderer for View-Consistent 2D-to-3D Generation

作者U-Chae Jun, Jaeeun Ko, Jiwoo Kang

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Reconstructing 3D shapes from a single image remains a fundamental yet challenging problem in computer vision. Traditional monocular 3D generation pipelines typically synthesize multiple views from a single input image before applying Neural Radiance Field (NeRF)-based reconstruction. However, inherent projective ambiguities often produce visual discontinuities across generated viewpoints, leading to inaccuracies in reconstructed 3D models. Current solutions either incur significant additional computational burdens or fail to adequately resolve practical inconsistencies between synthesized views. To address these limitations, we propose a novel viewpoint-adaptive neural rendering framework that enables robust 3D reconstruction even when given partially inconsistent multi-view inputs. Our approach introduces view-adaptive neural renderers that independently correct viewpoint-dependent errors while simultaneously sharing a global feature backbone to preserve structural coherence. Furthermore, we propose a self-attention fusion module that adaptively integrates multi-view information, ensuring geometric consistency without relying heavily on indirect regularizations or computationally intensive methods. Through extensive experiments, we demonstrate that our method consistently improves 3D reconstruction fidelity. Importantly, our approach achieves near state-of-the-art performance without diffusion-based SDS supervision, relying primarily on photometric rendering loss with lightweight attention regularizers. This balance between accuracy and efficiency makes the proposed framework highly practical for real-world applications.

CircuitReason-1k: Benchmarking Long-Horizon Visual-to-Symbolic Reasoning inElectrical Circuits

作者Xinqi Yang, Kang An, Tengyue Wang, Zhongyu Yang, Chenxu Du, Yuanchi Zhu, Hebao Zhu, Ziliang Wang, Faqiang Qian, Yunli Yang, Qibing Ren

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Electrical circuit analysis requires more than recognizing components in an image. A solver must ground symbols and labels, recover latent topology, select a physical model, formulate coupled equations, propagate intermediate quantities, and preserve units, signs, directions, and phase conventions. We introduce \benchmark, a benchmark of 1,000 authentic textbook problems for evaluating this complete long-horizon visual-to-symbolic reasoning process. Each problem pairs one or more circuit diagrams with a self-contained question, a typed or semantically specified answer, and a reference worked solution. An evidence-first construction pipeline aligns questions, figures, and solutions, while a reasoning-oriented taxonomy organizes problems by circuit type and dependency depth. Evaluation combines conservative typed scoring with identity-blinded multi-model semantic consensus, retaining every problem in the denominator. Across three commercial chatbot systems and six open-source multimodal large language models, the highest-scoring system reaches 84.8% accuracy. However, performance consistently deteriorates on long-horizon problems, and qualitative analysis exposes persistent failures in topology-to-target binding, physical conventions, and late-stage output propagation. \benchmark{} provides a focused testbed for measuring whether multimodal models can transform technical visual evidence into sustained, physically valid symbolic reasoning. Code are available at GitHub - CircuitReason/CircuitReason1K.

Magnetic field strength is a major source of domain shift in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), affecting signal-to-noise ratio, tissue contrast, spatial detail, and the visibility of anatomical boundaries. The MRIxFields 2026 challenge investigates this problem through cross-field MRI translation across acquisitions at 0.1T, 1.5T, 3T, 5T, and 7T. Its three tasks, Any-to-7T, 0.1T-to-High, and Any-to-Any synthesis, require the generation of target-field image characteristics while preserving subject-specific anatomy. This problem is particularly challenging because paired acquisitions of the same subject across multiple field strengths are rarely available for training. We propose a 3D unpaired cross-field MRI translation framework based on field-conditioned content-style pretraining. The proposed framework first learns controllable field-to-field translation across all available field strengths by disentangling anatomical content from field-dependent contrast characteristics. The pretrained backbone is then adapted to task-specific target domains. Our model comprises a 3D content encoder, a 3D style encoder, a field-conditioned style generator, an AdaIN-modulated decoder, and a multi-field discriminator. Adversarial learning encourages realistic target-field appearance, while cycle-consistency, identity, content, style, and diversity constraints promote anatomical fidelity and controllable translation. We evaluate the proposed method on MRIxFields data spanning five field strengths and three MRI modalities. Experiments on paired test data demonstrate that the framework can adapt to the three challenge settings while preserving three-dimensional anatomical structure in the synthesized volumes. The implementation code is publicly available at https://github.com/Idea89560041/3D-MRI-Field-Translation.

REFRAMED: Towards Realistic Audio Description Generation for Movies

作者Igor Sterner, Mirella Lapata, Alex Lascarides, Frank Keller

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Audio Description (AD) is a verbal narration of key visual content in videos, enabling access for visually impaired audiences. Unlike standard video captioning, AD is a structured editorial task: descriptions must be inserted into gaps in dialogue and must convey only what is needed to understand the narrative being told. However, existing approaches formulate AD generation in an artificial setting where both the content and timing of descriptions are pre-specified, reducing the task to clip-level captioning. They further rely on noisy transcription and alignment pipelines, and lack the rich parallel data required for modeling narrative context. We introduce a new formulation of AD generation in which models must jointly decide what to describe and when to do it. To support this, we present REFRAMED, a high-quality dataset of 2,023 videos that span 3,302 scenes from 206 movies, with professional AD transcripts (both American and British versions), professional subtitles and aligned screenplays. We also provide a manually curated challenge set that pairs full movies with multiple AD references, together with evaluation protocols that leverage dialogue gaps and multi-reference comparisons. Experiments with state-of-the-art AD systems and multimodal LLMs show that they outperform trivial baselines but fall far short of expert human performance. Our dataset and benchmark establish a new foundation for research on video understanding.

SLIM-0.5B: Learning Action-Grounded Predictive Latents for Robot Manipulation

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Vision-language-action policies rely on large multimodal backbones to jointly perform perception, language conditioning, and action generation at every control step. Much of this capacity supports open-domain semantics, whereas continuous robot manipulation primarily requires compact representations of observations, actions, and the transitions induced by actions. Pixel-level world models provide another route, but predicting visual details irrelevant to control can be unnecessarily expensive. We propose SLIM (Self-supervised Latent Interaction Model), a compact 0.5B-parameter latent interaction policy. SLIM learns action-grounded predictive latents that capture both action-conditioned future transitions and the actions that explain observed changes. SLIM learns these representations through self-supervised masked trajectory prediction, combining action reconstruction with future-latent prediction. A compact Mixture-of-Transformers (MoT) backbone models interactions between observation latents and action tokens. The resulting policy is trained with flow matching for language-conditioned action generation. Across simulation benchmarks and real-world evaluation, SLIM matches or exceeds representative large-scale VLA and world-action-model baselines with fewer parameters, no additional embodied pretraining, lower inference latency, and substantially lower GPU memory usage.

RL-Native Distillation: Exploiting Scored Trajectories for Few-Step Image Generation

作者Yuhan Li, Fangao Zeng, Sicong Kang, Mengfei Xu, Hao Zhou, Wei Li, Pipei Huang, Bingbing Ni

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Efficient text-to-image generation requires both reinforcement-learning (RL)-based reward alignment and few-step distillation, yet these procedures are typically performed sequentially, increasing training cost and risking the loss of reward gains during compression. We instead take an RL-native perspective: diffusion RL already generates reward-scored finite-step trajectories, whose intermediate states provide a natural source of distillation supervision rather than a disposable byproduct of sampling. Based on this insight, we propose REST (Reward-Enhanced Scored-Trajectory Distillation), a single-stage RL-distillation co-training framework that attaches a decoupled student to an arbitrary RL teacher. The student learns segment-wise from the teacher's evolving rollout trajectories while leaving the original teacher optimization unchanged. To prevent uniform imitation from preserving undesirable low-reward behaviors, we further introduce Advantage-Modulated Distillation (AMD), which transforms rollout advantages into signed weights over a base distillation loss. AMD strengthens supervision from preferred trajectories and mildly repels the student from low-reward ones. The resulting framework is lightweight and plug-and-play, requires no extra image rollouts, no separate distillation dataset, and no adversarial training. Experiments on compositional generation, visual text rendering, and human-preference alignment show that REST enables few-step CFG-free inference that matches or surpasses its 40-step RL teacher, with an overall additional training cost below 25% over pure RL. REST improves DrawBench PickScore over RTDMD by 0.82 while requiring only one-fifth of the training iterations.

MADBench: A Benchmark for Modality-Aware Audio Deepfake Detection

作者Yanqiu Li, Yang Xiao, Jisheng Bai, Bin Chen, Hong Jia, Ting Dang

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Recent advances in speech synthesis and audio generation have made high-fidelity acoustic forgery low-cost and difficult to attribute, enabling a realistic attack scenario in which speech and background audio are independently manipulated over otherwise authentic video. Yet existing research either focuses on visual manipulation, addresses speech detection in isolation, or conflates speech and non-speech audio as a single undifferentiated audio stream, overlooking the distinct forensic challenges posed by background audio. This conflation is consequential: the two acoustic components arise from fundamentally different generative mechanisms, exhibit distinct artifact profiles, and pose different challenges to detection systems. We introduce MADBench, the first benchmark that treats speech and environmental audio as distinct acoustic components, enabling component-aware evaluation of audio deepfake detection across independently manipulated forgery sources. We benchmark representative state-of-the-art detectors and multimodal large language models under a unified protocol. Our experiments reveal that environmental audio manipulation is more detectable than synthetic speech across general-purpose encoders, while existing pretrained detectors fail on both acoustic components, and manipulated environmental audio asymmetrically degrades speech deepfake detection, findings entirely invisible under the single-label paradigm of prior benchmarks. MADBench establishes a rigorous foundation for future research into robust, component-aware audio deepfake detection.

JEPA-WAM: Learning Vision-Language-Action Policies with Joint-Embedding World Modeling

作者Yihan Lin, Jiawei He, Shifeng Bao, Chen Zhao, Yang Li, Xiaobo Wang, Yan Wang, Cheng Chi, Jing Zhang

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Robust robot control benefits from explicitly modeling state transitions, but video-generation world action models (WAMs) introduce substantial deployment cost. Existing latent WAMs avoid explicit future generation, but often compress predictive representations or separate predictive modeling from the representations used for action generation. We introduce JEPA-WAM, a latent WAM built in a pretrained V-JEPA space, which couples latent transition prediction with continuous action generation through a shared predictor. JEPA-WAM predicts a spatially structured joint current-future target that captures task-shared visual temporal structure between current and future observations, while preserving dense patch-level correspondence. Through the shared predictor, transition supervision directly shapes the backbone, from which dedicated representations are extracted for action prediction. The same design can also be instantiated in pretrained VLA policies while preserving their original perception and action pathways. On LIBERO-Plus, JEPA-WAM achieves 79.2%, the best result without large-scale robot-policy pretraining, while its pretrained $π_{0.5}$ instantiation reaches 86.3%, achieving the best overall performance. Experiments on RoboTwin 2.0 and real-world bimanual manipulation further demonstrate strong generalization under visual and spatial shifts.

When Latents Forget Pixels: Restoring Fidelity in Diffusion Transformer Super-Resolution

作者Yu Shi, Yuyao Zhang, Yu-wing Tai

展开完整摘要收起摘要

Image super-resolution (SR) with large generative models has recently achieved remarkable perceptual quality, yet maintaining fidelity to the LR observation remains challenging. In particular, we observe that diffusion transformers (DiTs) built on latent representations suffer from a critical limitation: the compression bottleneck of the VAE weakens fine-grained spatial information, leading to hallucinated details that are weakly grounded in the input image. In this work, we revisit generative SR from a representation perspective and propose a pixel-grounded super-resolution (PGSR) framework that preserves LR-observed pixel evidence before VAE compression and reuses it throughout restoration. Instead of relying solely on the compressed latent condition, PGSR extracts pre-VAE pixel evidence from the upsampled LR image and reuses it at two stages. First, Condition-Side Trajectory Guidance fuses LR-derived pixel evidence with the latent LR condition to guide the latent restoration trajectory. Second, Decoder-Side Pixel Grounding injects multi-scale pixel features into the frozen VAE decoder to ground the final rendering with LR-observed cues. To efficiently adapt large pretrained DiT models, we keep the latent autoencoder and main flow-matching backbone frozen, and train only lightweight restoration modules. We further study an efficient local-window attention variant for improved high-resolution efficiency and scalability. Extensive experiments demonstrate that PGSR improves the realism--fidelity trade-off and produces more faithful, visually convincing results than existing latent generative SR approaches.

Towards Expressive and Faithful Audio-to-Image Generation: A Unified Multimodal Dataset and Synthesis Framework

作者Dongxu Ge, Shansong Liu, Cheng Gong, Xiao-Lei Zhang, Chi Zhang, Xuelong Li

展开完整摘要收起摘要

As an important subfield of cross-modal generation, synthesizing static visual content in the form of images from audio, namely audio-to-image (A2I) generation, has attracted increasing research attention in recent years. Nevertheless, despite the remarkable visual quality of modern text-to-image (T2I) models, the performance of A2I remains fundamentally limited by traditional datasets, which often lack both high-fidelity images and precise cross-modal alignment. As a result, existing methods still struggle to achieve high-quality audio-to-image generation through finetuning strong T2I models, thereby constraining practical applications in this area. Motivated by this gap, we introduce A2I-Set, a unified, high-quality tri-modal dataset consisting of 323K paired audio, images, and detailed text captions, specifically designed for audio-visual research, including audio-conditioned image generation. Besides, we developed a new mixed-source test set for the A2I task through human supervision. We further propose an A2I model, AudioCanvas, fine-tuned on our A2I-Set. Experiments show that AudioCanvas achieves more visually expressive as well as cross-modal alignment results that generally outperforming existing approaches. Our dataset and source code are available at https://github.com/gdx012/A2I-Generation.
